Is bigger better?
So I came across Trolli gummy bears last night while shopping at Copps. They really didn’t look that good (read “I didn’t like the packaging”), but when I took a closer look I knew I had to pull the trigger.
- They were three bags for $3. Smoking deal.
- They had two sizes. Not two different sized bags, two physically different sizes of bears. The bag actually touts the larger sized Trolli gummy bears as being 4 times larger than their standard sized bears. FOUR TIMES LARGER!
Were the bigger bears better?
I made the purchase and while I’m not 100% certain they’re 4 times larger, they were big, thick and very meaty. The flavor was decent, but there were some things that threw me off:
- They had a couple of funky, non-standard gummy flavors
- They were NOT shaped properly. They had funny arms and bad hips
- The head had an odd texture
In summary, I would buy the Trolli brand again, but not the large ones. Just not right in my opinion.
I think those look like nice child bearing hips. And the 4X larger claim must be pre-shipping weight as some settling may occur. (wait that’s cereal.)
